Lon Chaney, known for his transformative performances in silent films, particularly in roles where he showcased elaborate makeup and physicality.  In He Who Gets Slapped (1924), Chaney portrayed the tragic character of the clown. Ofyen called "The Man of one Thousand Faces," Chaney's legacy is cemented as one of the pioneets of horror and character acting in early cinema.
